Video Game Dialogue
I have the least experience in writing choice based dialogue so please excuse the formatting as I was not sure the appropriate and clearest format. Having said that, this was some of the easiest and hardest writing decisions. The easiness came from finally all of the different options that swim in my head when I write anything, I can finally easily lay them all out and present that option to the players instead of myself. The difficult part strove from two different places; I wanted to show one story where no matter the dialogue choice very little would change from the other person in dialogue with you as I understand that certain games do this. Having said that I still wanted the dialogue to feel natural and I still wanted the user to feel like their choices matter which is something I found would be missing from certain games I played. The other difficulty was the dialogue from Solo is extremely emotionally charged and is the climax of the game, here I knew I could explore alternate endings and alternate dialogue trees from Luna. The main difficulty from this was simply the issue that comes with dialogue, making something naturalistic AND quite simply, good.
